Ive got chips on mine Quite bad, Ive been quoted £200 to repair it which i want done before applying protector covers, does that sound a reasonable price or should i get more quotes
That sounds quite steep to me. I would imagine that a good local bodyshop should do it for maybe £120 ish. People like Chips Away are fairly expensive. You might have to leave the paint to harden for a couple of weeks before applying the plastic - or so I was told.

I'm glad I spotted this post.
I noticed the area of the sill in front of the rear wheel when I washed my car and thought that it would make an ideal target for loose stones thrown up by the front wheel.
I will have to get a pair .
It might be a good idea to touch up any stone chips before hand if anyone is thinking of fitting some . It might make the chips less noticeable .

I saw a white Audi with these fitted and they had taken on a cloudy hue of light browny yellow.

I'm happy with mine. They've arrested the damage that was being done and are invisible unless you're inches away. If they start to discolour in a few years, then it's a simple job job to replace.

Just had another quote to get mine done £325. £179 of that was listed as paint. I only want 2 small areas done that sounds like enough paint for the whole car to me

Now that does sound steep, the words taking the pi$$ spring to mind.
Your first quote of £200 is in the ballpark, to do the job properly is not just a 5 minute blow in.

My rear wheel arches look terrible - in addition to some stone damage, they seem to be un-clean-able (new word!)
I fear I've washed the car, not spotted they weren't clean, and used AutoGlym's spray-on Aqua Wax.
Now when the car has dried after washing the rear wheel arches look terrible.
Anyone know how I given them a really good clean?
Something like AutoGlym's tar remover?

Isopropyl alcohol (IPO) if I can spell it right, to remove the wax and any other sealant or sticky stuff, then, hopefully, you can reinstate a decent level of clean.

That's a good idea, thank you. And mix the leftovers with a bit of tonic.

Buy some cheap clear wrap on Ebay, cut it to size and stick it on. Had mine on for nearly 4 years now and no sign of any rash. Also a good idea to buy enough to do the kick plates at the same time. I think my wrap cost me about a fiver and a really easy job to do if you are careful.
