Not changing gear

Post by Colt » Sat Apr 10, 2021 10:10 am

Hi. Just recently when driving locally pulling away from a stopped position in normal mode the gearbox doesn’t change for quite sometime and the Rev counter is heading towards 3000/4000 revs. It’s usually within 5 minutes from cold. I have to give it some heavy throttle for it to wake up and select the right gear. I haven’t been able to replicate this in dynamic or sport mode? Any ideas? I’m not a racer and I normally drive in normal mode 99% of the time.

Try holding up the right side paddle on the column for around 3-5 secs when on the move. That reverts the box back to auto. It may just have got caught when turning and set the box off balance, so to speak.

Could be as Fighterpilot says. I have been caught out a few times where I have unknowingly activated the right hand paddle when turning to pull away as it is very close to the wheel. I also think the gearbox sometimes hold the gears longer than expected for whatever reason and I usually just push the accelerator quickly to make it change.
I remember reading a long thread on the subject on here.
